The history of San Isidro begins in 1580, when Juan de Garay carries out the distribution of the lands located al north of the city of La Santisima Trinidad. Inside the called "Pago de la Costa o del Monte Grande"
The legend says that when traveling through these lands captain Domingo de Acassuso, had a dream by which he promises to raise a chapel in honor of San Isidro Labrador, being this the origin of the district.
Although nothing remained of the first chapel built in 1707, its location was respected. At present the Cathedral of San Isidro is found there.
At the end of the century XVIII San Isidro already was important, therefore its territory covered the present districts of Vicente Lopez, San Fernando, part of 3 de Febrero and the neighborhood of Belgrano.
In those years, the lands destined to farming, became the place of rest of the aristocratic families of Buenos Aires.
At the same time, extensive residences were built surrounded by immense gardens that gave San Isidro that particular aspect that with the time came to distinguish it.

Great place to stay. Convenient for shopping, sightseeing, transportation. Very helpful staff. Excellent maid and butler services. Very good continental breakfast. Very friendly and helpful people. Would definitely stay there again. I recommend it highly.
