The main Lodge has 22 rooms, all with private facilities, hairdryer, clock-radio and central heating. Tea and coffee are available 24 hours a day in the dining room. With 3 common areas, guests are not confined to their rooms. Guests are able to relax in the lounge by the log fire or play a game of pool in the Games/TV Room or a game of cards in the large dining room with spectacular views over the Lake. Watch a DVD or video in the lounge. Why not take a sauna after a day of skiing.

Mt Selwyn Australia's most friendly family ski resort. 11 lifts and runs of all standards. The base is at 1490 metres and the top is 1608 metres. Providence Lodge is the closest accommodation... only 25 minutes drive. Yarrangobilly Caves Only 35 minutes from Providence Lodge are some of Australia's best caves. Discovered in 1834, there are now nearly 300 caves in the massive limestone block. 5 are open to the public. Most do the Glory Arch cave but my pick is the exquisite Jillabenan Cave. This cave at 2 million years old has more formations per square metre than just about any other cave. After walking through the caves, enjoy a swim in the natural thermal pool. It is a constant 27°C. This is an ideal area for bushwalks along the Yarrangobilly River or picnics near the visitor centre.

Mt. Kosciuszko Australia's highest mountain at 2228 metres. This can be seen from the Thredbo Resort after a chairlift ride and a 2km walk or do it the easy way by driving to Charlotte Pass and taking in the view from your window. For the more energetic, there is a 8 km round trip walk from the top of the Thredbo chairlift or an 18 km roud trip from Charlotte Pass. This is a "must see" for all visitors. Make a day of it by driving through Jindabyne to Thredbo. Take the chairlift to the top and walk 2 kms to the Kosciuszko viewing platform.

Adaminaby: In the late 1950's, with the building of Lake Eucumbene, over 100 buildings were moved from the old town to its current location. It is interesting to see the old buildings that were moved and to muse over whether it was worth it. Adaminaby is the site of the world's largest trout statue. Also worth a visit is the magnificent Hall Curtain completed recently by the whole community. There are a number of events including the Easter fair, the Trout fishing competition in November and the Horse Cutting in January. The highlight of the year is the Adaminaby races held on the last weekend of November.
Snowy Hydro Scheme Started in 1949, this massive project consisted of 16 dams, 130 kms of tunnels and 100's of kms of roads through rugged mountain terrain. Taking 25 years to complete, it was completed on time and on budget. The scheme provides renewable electricity generated by 7 hydro power stations and irrigation water out west through the Murray and Murrumbidgee Rivers. Main lakes include Eucumbene, Jindabyne, Blowering, Talbingo and Tantangara. These are all linked by tunnels cut through the mountains to bring water to the west. Tumut 2 and Tumut 3 power stations are open to the public and are well worth a visit.

Jindabyne Jindabyne was re-located in the 1960's to make way for Lake Jindabyne. Rather than move the buildings as they did for Adaminaby, a whole new town was built. Rather than re-locate the town away from the lake like Adaminaby was, Jindabyne was re-located on the shores of Lake Jindabyne creating a town with beautiful views. With its close proximity to Thredbo and Perisher ski resorts, Jindabyne has grown dramatically since its re-location.

Kiandra In late 1859, gold was discovered. By April 1960, over 10,000 people were living at Kiandra. Within 12 months, this dropped to 300. The town existed until 1972 when the NPWS bulldozed the remnants of the town. All that remains are a couple of derelict buildings and a history trail with plaques telling what was one there. The setting of Kiandra is beautiful. It is at 1400 metres on a vast treeless plain.

Coolamine Homestead An old homestead on the road to Blue Waterholes. 4 wheel drive access only. Travel along the Long Plain Road to what was once a thriving farm. This collection of buildings is all that is left.
