This "little paradise" is located about 7km (4.35 miles) between Mal-Pais Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve and Montezuma on the Peninsula de Nicoya.
Not only do you have the ocean close to your doorstep, but you also can relax at the exquisite pool area. You can listen to the two waterfalls gently flowing into the pool, or pick fresh fruit off the many trees that surround the pool and fill the air with their tantalizing scents. Close your eyes, and enjoy your own hideaway. When you get tired of sunning by pool or surfing or fishing, enjoy some of the local cuisine in the village located a few minutes down the beach from Newville Pool House.

Almost everything is in a walking distance. Within 2 minutes walk you will find a bakery, a sushi bar, a lovely Internet cafe, two small local grocery stores, where you will find anything you need from fishing gear to lovely organic fruits and vegetables at very low rates. Several local fishermen sell fresh fish. there are two surf point nearby, one for beginners and one for more advanced surfers. Entering Cabuya is the beautiful river 'Rio Lajas' with water falls and swimming pools Around Cabuya: Just 1km off the beach line of Cabuya, the island of Cabuya where you can snorkel and fish in one of the most beautiful spots around. At low tide you can walk to the island on dry land as the sea folds back and expose the trail to the island. At the end of the village of Cabuya starts the Natural Reserve Cabo Blanco. A real wildlife corner, bird watching, monkeys and primary forest surrounds you. Beautiful ocean views and sandy beaches you will find as you hike through the reserve. You can also take a horseback riding or rent an ATV to go to the other end of the reserve, Mal-Pais, for more scenic and breath taking white sandy beaches. Mal-Pais and Santa-Teresa are among the world most famous surf beaches, and many surfers come here regularly to surf. Natural Reserve Cabo Blanco: At the end of the village of Cabuya you will find the entrance to Natural Reserve Cabo Blanco on the Nicoya Peninsula. The abundant and exotic jungle is home to a variety of wildlife including the most species of birds found in the world, monkeys and other animals. While hiking through the reserve, you can bird watch, enjoy the flora and fauna, and be in awe at the beautiful ocean views and sandy beaches. You can also go horseback riding or rent an ATV to go to the other end of the reserve, Mal-Pais, and enjoy even more scenic and breath taking white sandy beaches. Mal-Pais and Santa-Teresa are among the world’s most famous beaches visited by surfers from around the world. You can surf in Cabuya, and at high tide you’ll discover the world-class surfing conditions at Playa los Cedros. The night life in Cabuya is quiet and relaxed, but just 7km (4.35 miles) away you will discover a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, bars and full moon beach parties in Montezuma, Mal-Pais and Santa-Teresa. There is a bus that runs approximately every two hours, and you can visit more beautiful beaches and waterfalls around Cabuya. While in Cabuya, don’t miss Rio Lajas: its shady banks are ideal for bird watching, where kingfishers, herons, toucans and even roseate spoon bills can be seen. Upstream there are refreshing swimming pools and natural Jacuzzis to relax in, while you enjoy your own personal "piece of Paradise".
