The Municipality of Mayac is spread over seven villages on both sides of the Isle. It has beautiful views and old houses. The Church of Saint Saturnin, Romanesque (twelfth century), has a southern portal which forms the bulk of the remains of the Romanesque base, because the building has been dramatically transformed in the nineteenth century. The Sarrazac Castle, rebuilt in the fifteenth century, belonged to Lord Bertrand Paleyrac but in 1511 he gave a dowry to his daughter along with the properties of Verneuil, mills and Mayac of Old Mas, who married Francis of Abzac of Mayac. Sold and bought several times after the Revolution, it belongs to the same family since 1875.
It borders the magnificent Chateau Louis XIV, built in 1700 on the site of the old twelfth century ruins. This stronghold belongs to one of the oldest families in the Perigord is still inhabited by his descendants. There is also on the village's castle Sarrazac (XV century), the Mas de Mayac (XIV century) and its Moorish tower.
