Apartment Madeleine in Paris offers the best of all worlds. The location is the 9th arrondissment, next to one of the most famous boulevards in Paris....rue La Fayette, which comes out of the centre of Paris and heads east past Gare de Nord and Gare de L'Est. Apartment Madeleine has four large french windows looking out over Square Montholon...a beautiful little tree lined park with a young childrens' play area, an all weather table tennis table, seating and free internet access. Within meters of the entrance to the apartment, there is an epicerie, a typical french cafe and a very nice pizza restaurant called Giovanni, run of course by a typical Italian character called...what else but Giovanni. Well worth a visit....simple and reasonably priced menu coupled with great customer service. There is a cash point across the street, and a small super market about 75 yards away. The area is bustling with people and small restaurants mixed with local businesses which gives this particular area a village feel, both safe to be in and walk around, and giving acces to most of the major sites like The Louvre, Sacre Coeur, Follies Berger, Opera, Madeleine, Monte Martre and Pigale. It is well placed for travel....between Metro Cadet and Poissonniere, and only a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord. Buses pass going to St Lazare, Louvre, Gare de l'Est, Opera and many other places.

All prices are in euros and are for 4 persons and include heating, electricity, hot water, bedding and towels. There is an end of stay cleaning charge of €60. A deposit of 50% is payable to confirm the booking and payment is by bank transfer to our french bank account. The deposit may be made by credit card, but there is a 3% service charge on top of the tourist exchange rate of the day published on Yahoo Finance from Euros to British pounds. All bookings must be guaranteed by validated credit card details and these may be sent between two emails, by phone, or by text to my mobile phone. For those concerned about this, we run a guest house here in the UK and are licensed to store credit card details securely and which are destroyed after your stay at appartment Madeleine in Paris. We have been trading for over ten years in the accommodation business. You will have the keys to an apartment worth €400,000, so please dont be concerned about this process.

Note: If you do not already have annual holiday insurance, then we strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance cover - so that you can receive compensation from your insurer, in the event that you have to cancel your booking less than 8 weeks prior to departure.

Booking Terms and Conditions
The booking arrangements are made subject to the following conditions, and receipt of the deposit/full payment is confirmation that the client understands, accepts and agrees to these conditions.
The Booking Process
When booking, the client shall pay a deposit of 50% of the booking fee, which is non-refundable. When the booking is confirmed the deposit will then go towards the cost of the client’s holiday, with the remaining balance due eight weeks prior to departure.
All bookings must be guaranteed by credit card details. We run a business in the UK and are licensed to store credit card details. These are stored securely and are destroyed after your stay. They can be sent by telephone call, through two emails, or by email and text etc.
Cancellations
In the event that you, the client, cancel your booking, the following charges apply:
• More than 8 weeks to departure: deposit only,
• Less than 8 weeks to departure: 100% of rental cost.

Deposit for Damages
All damage other than normal wear and tear to the property must be paid for. We strongly recommend you take out a holiday insurance policy to cover any breakages and losses during the period of your stay. You are provided with two sets of keys, each set containing the security entry door key and the apartment key, and one of these set will contain the key for the safe which is in the double bedroom in the wall at the far side of the door. Replacement keys cost €60 (euros) each key so please look after them. Lost keys will be charged for.
Short Notice Bookings
Depending on availability, it is also possible to book the apartment at short notice - i.e. less than 8 weeks before the first day of your holiday. If you do make a short notice booking, then you will need to pay the full amount for renting the apartment at the time when you confirm your booking.
Limitation of Liability
We the owners of the apartment cannot accept responsibility or liability for any death, personal injury, sickness, accidents, or loss (including luggage and personal effects), delay or any other misadventure being incurred or suffered by clients whilst renting our accommodation.

Jon is a great host who made everything clear and easy.
Flexible payment...we used PayPal. The price on the site was the price you paid although Jon does charge to take PayPal although as a PayPal user this was only the fee he pays to accept the payment.
The apartment is in a great location with easy access to metro and buses. The little park across the road was really handy for our children, and I was able to use the free WiFi in the park whilst the kids played.
Apartment Madeleine in Paris has been our favorite apartment rental and I would recommend it for all groups.
We loved the little restaurant next door...Pizza Giovanni. Giovanni was a good laugh, his prices were good and al fresco eating next to the apartment was oh so handy for the children and letting the adults have a drink in the evening. Nothing was too much trouble for Jon.
