This splendidly renovated stone mas or farmhouse is situated in its own wonderfully secluded valley of the Pyrenees, yet is within 5 minutes to Vernet Les Bains, 20 minutes to the Prades village with shops, and within an hour of beautiful Mediterranean beaches and Pyrenean ski-stations. The land, bordered by National Forest, includes a fruit orchard, woodland, mountain stream and large private gardens, with ample space for walking, picnics, or just soaking up the sun.

The Prades house is light, airy, spacious and full of character, with beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and a wood-burning stove.

Inside the Orientales Pyrenees house you will find:

Large kitchen/dining room is light and cool with terracotta floors, beamed ceiling and dining table to seat 6 to 8. Fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and electric kettle.

Lounge is large, comfortable (with plenty of seating) and airy, with terracotta floors, beamed ceiling and wood-burning stove. Door to terrace.

Main double bedroom, with newly installed en-suite bathroom, is up its own small flight of stairs. It is large, light and airy with beautiful views. Comfortably furnished, with beamed ceiling and wooden floors. The newly-installed bathroom includes a bath, separate shower stall, WC, washbasin.

2 further bedrooms are downstairs, both with large windows, wooden floors and beamed ceilings. Each is well-furnished, one as a double, one as a twin.

A further bedroom (with restricted head height) is located off the mezzanine area upstairs from lounge. The bedroom has two twin beds.

The newly-installed main bathroom has bath with shower, sink and WC.

Outside
The farm house has a huge shady porch, large sunny terrace and is surrounded by private gardens for your exclusive use. There is ample parking.

An outside porch leads to interior entrance porch, which provides access to terrace and kitchen. The terrace faces south and runs the length of the house. It has a BBQ and garden furniture, and is planted with lavender, jasmine and fragrant herbs.

Within the immediate area there is something for everyone, with a wealth of cultural and historical places of interest, delicious foods and wines (from a Michelin starred restaurant to traditional local eateries), hidden Pyrenean villages, a full range of outdoor activities and a host of gorges, rivers, valleys, hot springs and scenic spots for those who simply want to get away from it all.

SHOPPING
Sahorre (the village at the bottom of the hill) has a boulangerie, a renowned charcuterie (people come from afar for the sausages and pate), a small general store, a cave (wine cellar), a tabac-presse and a Post Office. The nearest supermarket is Ecomarche in Vernet-les-Bains (when you get to Sahorre, turn right over the bridge and follow the signs. When you get to Vernet, go over the bridge and turn left, and you will come to the supermarket at the edge of the town). The Ecomarche is open on Sunday mornings.
