A large, light, gite /apartment with 2 outdoor terraces (one covered) of 45 sq metres plus a rear private patio, set in wooded grounds on the edge of a spa village.
Superb views with a feeling of seclusion yet only minutes walk into village center; restaurants, bars, shops, spa, casino, swimming pools, market, shops, museum, play grounds and park, tennis courts, river and many open areas.
Within easy driving distance of: beaches (Mediterranean), skiing, Da Vinci heritage, Prehistoric artifacts, Speleology, Petit Train Jaune (highest train in France), Solar Furnace, Dali Museum (Figueres), Colioure, Water Theme Park, Water adventure Centres, Perpignan Rugby.
The 90.5 sq metre gite is all on one floor but the entrance is at ground floor to one side of the mountain but the apartment becomes first floor by the time your reach the terrace.
There is also a Cave (utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer) and garage.
3 bedrooms. Dining/living room and also a dining/kitchen which is well equipped including a dishwasher.
Bathroom inc toilet plus a separate wc.<br><br>On the outdoor terrace there is a very large BBQ which is also used as an outdoor fireplace to congregate around.
Bed linen / towels available for small fee (10 euros per person).
All the rooms have central heating. There are also electric fans for localised heating/cooling.

Vernet Les Bains is a Spa Village with a history going back to the Belle Epoque and Kipling. Nearby there is culture and history: Vilefranche de Conflent, St Martin de Canigou, the Prades music Festival and much more. The sacred Mount Canigou provides a wonderful setting as well as an area to walk and explore.Vinca Lake is a place to play and relax.
The village has 3 outdoor pools (a deep pool with diving board, a children's pool and a paddling pool for the very young), an indoor pool, Municipal Park & children's play areas. Clean spring water is used for the pools, which are just a five minute walk down the road from Villa des Mines.
Other sporting facilities within the village include tennis courts, an equestrian centre & boules.
In addition to the naturally occurring volcanic hot springs and treatments of the Spa Centre there is an aqua gym, sauna, Jacuzzi etc. Vernet Les Bains has a special status as an arboretum Village, with over 200 species of tree spread around the village.
Three mornings a week there is a bustling market, held in the village centre, where you can buy local produce. There is a wide range of shops, 3 café-bars & 6 restaurants, with many more in neighbouring villages.
Village festivals are held throughout the year - just a couple of examples: in June, the fete de la St Jean sees torches lit at the summit of the Canigou. You can sit on the terrace and watch the torch-light descent to village level. The first Sunday in August sees the Championship of the Canigou. A 30 km race, from Vernet to the summit and back, first held in 1905. To enter, just turn up on the day.

A phone call or email will secure a provisional booking which may be held for up to 5 days. A 25% deposit is required upon booking, the balance and security deposit is due 8 weeks prior to start of rental. Rental includes: water, electricity, parking and changeover cleaning. Pillows and duvets are provided. Towels & linen are available for hire.
