Brassacou, beautiful, well equiped rooms in the Ariège, Midi-Pyrenees, in the foothills of the Pyrenees.<br><br>Brassacou lies on the bank of the Ariège, near the small town of Pamiers, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The property includes a park-like garden, a virgin forest, fields and meadows. <br>Plane trees border a private beach at the river Ariège, where you can sunbathe, swim or make small excursions in your own rubber boat or canoe. <br>Pamiers is nearby and offers with its 18.000 inhabitants good restaurants and many boutiques and supermarkets. Pamiers is known as the city of festivals, numerous events like markets, concerts, sport competitions and fairs take place during many weekends around the year. <br><br>In the midst of a virgin nature paradise with all kinds of animals, many rare flowers and plants, you can spend many relaxing quiet days. Wit a bit of luck you will see numerous wild animals like boars, roes, badgers, beavers, hares, pheasants, partridges, different birds of prey and song-birds like the kingfisher, nightingale, hoopoe and golden oriole. Only on the 100 hectares of the property of Brassacou you already will find more than a thousand species of different orchids.<br>
In Brassacou you will find five nice double rooms meeting all standards. Every room is equipped with shower and toilet. The rooms are individually furnished in good taste and atmosphere. On demand the rooms will be daily cleaned and the beds will be made. A spacious common sitting- and eating room with hearth and outdoor terrace is at your convenience. In the morning you will be treated with a copious breakfast with French dainties. On demand we offer a French multi-course diner in the evening, which by good weather will be served on our terrace.

The city of Toulouse, the well-known city of Carcassonne as well as the smaller cities of Mirepoix and Foix offer a great variety of mediaeval buildings and churches and the possibility to wander in their streets. But also the many weekly markets, antiquity-, pottery- and crafts markets as well as musical performances enjoy the visitors during the season. Walk in the steps of the Cathars, the citadel Montségur lies nearby. The famous pilgrimage of St. Jacques de Compostella borders our terrain. And don’t forget to visit the famous caves of Niaux with their 13.000 years old cave-drawings. Let a visit to the prehistorically park in Tarascon or a boat-excursion over the subterranean river of Labouiche take you back to the stone age. Or visit the enchanting Parc aux Bambous. <br><br>Sport and other activities <br> From tax-free shopping (Andorra) to visiting the small boutiques in Toulouse, from fishing to para gliding, the Ariège offers a wide variety of entertainment. Cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, canyoning, hiking, golf, horseback riding and climbing are just a few of the activities you can undertake. We will love to show you the secrets of the golf sport or accompany you on a walk through the nature around Brassacou. You can use the river Ariège for canoeing or just enjoy the artful landscape of the Pyrenees. <br><br>Art <br> Who likes to be creative can (on demand) use our small workshop to learn about pottery or modelling clay. Or simply, inspired by the wonderful views around Brassacou, do some painting. It is also worth your while to take a walk in the neighbourhood with your camera to capture the beauty on photographs. <br>
