Set in its own gardens and parkland surrounded by meandering streams, bar/restaurant just a short stroll up the valley. With the medieval town of Melle within minutes the situation is quite lovely. The very discreet French and English owners who live in one end of the Mill are on hand for help and advice. Easy access to La Rochelle, Golden beaches, Marais Poitevin ( Green Venice ) , Cognac, Futuroscope, Puy de Fou, Monkey Valley and much more.<br><br>The Water Mill which has been renovated and furnished to a very high standard and consists of : The ' machine room ' which has a stone flagged floor, oak beams and the original ( 18th century ) illuminated mill workings, all recently restored. There are comfortable armchairs & settee, CD player & radio, books & games. A wide hardwood staircase leads to the first floor bedrooms.<br><br>The ' Oak room ' with the old mill stones embedded in the floor has a comfortable double bed, TV with DVD player & en suite shower room, wc, hand basin and annex ' Millers room ' with a 3/4 'lit bateau and 1 single bed which can also be accessed by its own private balcony. <br><br>A third double bedroom, has a TV video with en suite Jacuzzi bath, separate WC & host's a four poster bed and a single bed. All bedrooms are equipped with electric fans to keep you cool in the hot summer months. A fully fitted kitchen has been installed in the original mill race where you can even feed the fish, which come up the tunnel quite impressive ! Large work surfaces with double sink, microwave/grill, washing machine and large fridge/freezer. Covered eating area, and separate WC, washbasin.
