KEFALONIA. This delightful 17th stone villa is set in stunning terraced gardens with its own private pool. Uninterrupted views across meadows and sea. The main villa has two large bedrooms, one double with private verranda and the other (twin) with its own stone terrace (there is room for an extra occasional bed if required).
ACROSS a short stone path is your third double bedroom, set in a four roomed cottage with its own kitchen, living room (with additional double sofa bed if required), bathroom, private sun terraces.
BOTH COTTAGES have TV and video, and a large selection of videos and books. Both have wood burning stoves for the cooler months and the thick stone walls offer a cool retreat from the sun in Summer months. Both have well equipped and stocked kitchens for you to prepare your own meals, or stroll along the old donkey path to the local village for a choice of good tavernas - one is listed in the Good Food Guide.
YOU ARE JUST A FEW MINUTES WALK to a secluded beach, village tavernas and minimarket. Nearby is the fishing village of FISCARDO where you can sit at a quayside taverna and watch the yatchs and fishing boats come in. Or just relax on one of the many terraces in the gardens of this peaceful retreat. Stroll down to the beautiful beach of Dafnoudi where you can swim to an underground beach...

A car is recommended if you want to explore Kefalonia and a 25 minute drive will take you to the famous bay at Assos with its Venetian castle and pretty harbour, and 5 minutes further on is the stunning Myrtos Beach (listed as one of the top ten beaches in the world) and made famous in the film 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin'. A must whilst visiting Kefalonia is a boat trip on Homer's Melissani Lake - a magical sunlit underground lake.
