Apartment Vettore sleeps 4-6 people. It has its own entrance and and outdoor terrace for al fresco dining. There is a view of the mountains from the terrace. The apartment has been newly renovated throughout to a high standard with the old stone walls left exposed where practicable.
The unusually large windows, high ceilings and generous room sizes make this apartment pleasantly light and airy. The windows face northwest with a view of hills and woodland. This aspect means that the apartment stays cool in summer. The apartment is about 80sqm. in size and has a seperate kitchen boasting a modern fully equipped kitchen including a microwave, gas cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, toaster and filter coffee machine.The living area is unusually large containing a dining table and chairs. For relaxation there are two comfortable sofas (one is a sofa bed). There is satelite TV, a DVD player and sound system in the flat. We have a small library of DVDs for guests. The wood burning stove will provide a warm cosy atmosphere during those cool evenings. For very cold days there is the additional convenience of a full central heating system.The main bedroom of the apartment contains a double bed with side tables, a chest of drawers, mirror and wardrobe. The bathroom is en-suite. The second bedroom contains two single beds with side tables, a chest of drawers, mirror and wardrobe. The bathroom is just across the corridor. Each bathroom comprises a toilet, bidet, shower and washbasin. The arrangements for the beds can be changed with sufficient notice.
A large terraced garden on two levels has been created for guests to use. The garden has stunning views of the mountains. It faces south-west, however some shade is provided by the old oak trees that surround the property. The garden comprises paved and grassy areas as well as flower beds.
There are plenty sun loungers available.
A communal washroom is available to guests with a washing machine, sink, ironing board and iron. A small library comprising books, DVDs and games has also been set up.

The interior of Le Marche region of central Italy is one of the least developed and most unspoilt. It is an area known to Italian tourists and an increasing number of international visitors. Sarnano and San Ginesio, the nearest towns to us, have both been officially listed among the 'most beautiful villages' in Italy. Both towns have also earned the Orange Flag for the high standards of their tourist facilities. The local populace is hospitable, welcoming and patient with those fumbling with basic Italian (our personal experience).All towns in the area organise festas and various other forms of entertainment most especially during the summer but also throughout the year. A wide choice of restaurants in the area offer the traditional Cucina Marchigiana at reasonable prices. Alternatively take advantage of the self-catering facilities to try out some local recipes for yourself using the fresh produce available at the local markets. Casa Carotondo is conveniently located near the picturesque town of Sarnano with its shops, market and other tourist facilities. A number of important medieval towns with their respective cultural riches such as Macerata, Tolentino and Ascoli Piceno are within easy reach. The Sibillini Mountains are close offering opportunities for hiking, cycling and many other sports. If all that sounds too much just drive up there, have a picnic and take in the views. The Adriatic coast with its blue flag beaches also beckons. An excellent location for watersports, lounging in the sun or trying out those beach-side fish restaurants.
