Etna lodge – Palmento di Gilferraro once an ancient wine production factory has been renovated as a lodge in Mount Etna Nature Park at the foothills of Europe’s largest active volcano. The modern wing (19th century) of the medieval construction and the North Wing have been renovated for your comfort, but kept in style for your eyes.
It is an ideal resort for romantic tranquility, family vacation, cultural tourism and trekking in Mount Etna Nature Park. The Palmento rises on top of a 3-acre fruit park with trees bearing biological fruit all year round and fresh vegetables growing according to the season on a naturally fertilized volcanic soil. It is close to Piedimonte Etneo, a rural Sicilian village not far from Taormina and the Mediterranean Sea. The view stretches from the coast of Calabria, to Taormina and the seaport Riposto, and to Mount Etna. The atmosphere is cozy, the family is composed by a Viking Ballet Dancer, a Sicilian Chemistry Professor now specialized in preserves. Communication occurs in Danish, English, French, Italian and with hands. Having no neighbors, screaming kids, drum and trumpet players are welcome. The fee for the South Wing Suite of the Palmento, with breakfast, which comfortably accommodates 2 guests, inclusive of towels, sheets, gas, electricity , plus all the fruit you can manage to pick on the trees and fit in your luggage, is Euro 95,00 per night. The fee for the Rooms which accommodate 2 persons is Euro 85,00 per night, with breakfast. For single use of a double room Euro 65, with breakfast.
