So what will you find here?
A pure and simple environment, warmth and the very best we can do to make your holiday as relaxing and interesting as possible. We've been running an organic farm since 1992: we were the first in this area and at the beginning everyone thought we were a little bit too idealistic, but we've continued doing what we believe in up to today, when "organic" has become all the rage and everybody claims to be into it. And our sense of hospitality is just the same: we don't want to be a hotel in the country, but to give our guests a chance to experience, as far as is still possible, family cozyness and the rhythm of the countryside.

We're situated in the very heart of the Chianti area, between the beautiful city of Siena and the famous medieval fortress of Monteriggioni. As everyone knows, our hillsides are one of a kind in the world and our countryside is breathtaking. If you want to visit the marvelous artistic centers in the area, ours is a strategic position: in 10 minutes you can reach Siena, in a quarter of an hour Monteriggioni, Castellina in Chianti and Colle val d’Elsa. San Gimignano, Asciano, San Galgano and Volterra are only half an hour away and Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Florence and Arezzo just an hour's drive from here.

And what will your stay with us be like?
Ours is a small farmhouse, so you'll always find lots of peace and quiet, as well as lots of attention to your needs. The reception is open in the morning and the afternoon, to help and advise you in planning your day. We have both rooms and apartments, so as to offer you the arrangement that best suits your needs. Our morning buffet is made up of sweets, biscuits, fruit cocktail, yogurt, butter and fruit preserves; the other meals are built around traditional Tuscan recipes, made especially tasty by our fresh garden produce, and almost always served with our homemade bread and our own wine...

Thanks its central position in the heart of Tuscany the ANTICO ULIVETO is an ideal starting point for those guests who want to discover the most beautiful and evocative places this region has to offer.
Around us are located the most important cities and provinces of the arts, such as Siena, Firenze, Lucca, Arezzo and Cortona, Pisa, Pistoia with their piazzas, streets, museums, by this time universally well-knowns. We suggest you the following excursions , also:

• The territory of the ‘Chianti-shire’, the place of production of the famous wine, extends as far as the cities of Florence and Siena. Chianti is well worth a visit, both for the overwhelming beauty of the nature and to experience the territories, and the castles, the churches and the farms, where it is possible to taste and to choose wines of great class, and take a tour that clarifies the ageing and production techniques (it is necessary to make a reservation beforehand).
Here are 2 itineraries we suggest to visit : -Running through the road SS222 you reach the village of Castellina in Chianti, then that one of Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti. Here you can choose between beautiful places of the Tuscan countryside where you can visit ; for exemple the Castle of Brolio , the Castle of Meleto , the Castle of San Giusto a Rentennano and the parishes: Spaltenna, and the medieval villages of Vertine, Monteluco di Lecchi, Barbischio, Lucignano and San Sano, the Abbey of Badia a Coltibuono.

From Castellina in Chianti proceeding towards North or running through the SI-FI Superhighway with exit S.Donato, you reach the Florence side of Chianti:
the medieval villages of Montefioralle and Lamole, Panzano in Chianti and Greve in Chianti,the Castle of Verrazzano, the Castle of Vicchiomaggio, the Castle of Querceto, the Castle of Mugnana and Cintoia, the Castle of Uzzano .

• The Val d' Elsa, with its pearls; San Gimignano the city of the beautiful towers (the Medieval Manhattan of Tuscany!); Monteriggioni and its perfect town-walls; Colle Val d' Elsa with its medieval village ‘Colle Alta’, one of the most important Italian centres for crystal production.
