Hotel Trinidad Bed and Breakfast is a cosy colonial home complemented with a charming modern section, just two and a half blocks from the main square.
Indeed just like at our sister hotel, Hotel Trinidad Galeria, art and culture inundate the entire hotel. You can sit and enjoy light music in the comfortable lobby area, with a view to luscious gardens and a relaxing fountain. There are quiet informal patios and balconies for peaceful reading or simply to sit and chat and relax.
You can choose to experience the grandeur of staying in one of our colonial rooms, or enjoy the mod cons of our newer section. Every room comes with a delicious complimentary continental breakfast and there is wireless internet connection available to all in the reception area.
For those traveling by car, we offer free parking (at our sister hotel just three blocks away). And there is the added bonus to all our guests of free entrance to the large pool, also at our sister hotel.
Hotel Trinidad is located just two and a half blocks from the historical city square, and only five blocks from the famous avenue 'Paseo Montejo'. A total of 19 rooms, for all tastes and budgets, range from a dormitory to suite with air, cable TV and original artwork on the walls. Of course, our complimentary continental breakfast applies to all rooms.
Hotel Trinidad's newest addition is the new gameroom...a shared room that features a big screen television (often showing live soccer/football games), a pool table that converts into both a ping pong and air hockey table, a refrigerator (you supply the refreshments), a chessboard, dominoes, backgammon board, books, magazines and more. The room is open to all guests and is air conditioned to keep it cool and comfortable.
Continental breakfast. Roof garden with hot tub jacuzzi and view of the city. Central courtyard with gardens. Original artwork everywhere. Game room with large screen TV, cable, A/C and pool table.

Merida Yucatan
Local Attractions
|
Two blocks from center of the city.

Merida is a fabulous base for many a Yucatecan adventure. The city itself has a rich colonial history, and the Zocalo (main square) houses the grand cathedral (built from the stones which originally formed a Mayan pyramid), which boasts the largest indoor crucifix in Latin America. Meridan artist Fernando Castro Pacheco is the author of the fine murals which decorate the Governor's palace, while intricate facade stonework invites you to enter the Casa De Montejo on the opposite side of the square. And the Mayor's palace hosts several cultural events on a regular basis.
Merida holds cultural evenings every day of the week, culminating in 'Merida en Domingo', where the town centre is closed to traffic on Sunday for party time. You can tour around the wonderful buildings already mentioned, as well as the Peon Contreras theatre and the university, brouse the flea markets, take a trip on a horse-pulled carriage, or simply sip a beer and watch the world go round. The modern discotheques are packed full of local, un poco loco, beautiful people.

The Paseo Montejo is the main avenue, designed along the same lines as the Champs Elysees. It too is lined with restaurants, stores, hotels and all in the shade of glorious flamboyant trees, and it is within walking distance of the Hotel Trinidad Galeria.

For day trips, the Yucatan offers something for all tastes. From the impressive Mayan pyramids (Uxmal, Chichen Itza), to an enormous selection of underground lakes (cenotes) where you can swim away from the heat, or even go diving, to local haciendas developed into first class restaurants, to mangrove countryin Celestun where pink flamingoes can always be seen, and if you're lucky maybe even a crocodile. Local beaches at Progreso, Chiburna, Chelem, Chicxulub and other communities are just down the road and easily accessible from Merida, with a wide selection of great seafood restaurants. The Mayan Riviera is also only a three hours drive away.
