Hi Everyone, I just finished a music video of the Blues
Festival in Mont Tremblant. It took much longer than I anticipated.
It began one summer while I was living in Mont Tremblant, Quebec. They
were having a Blues Festival and I figured it would be a great opportunity
to do some filming. I quickly hired a photographer Anthony
Berube with music and travel video background and got a press pass
through the Mayor of Mont Tremblant, Pierre
Pilon . I had no idea of the direction I was going with the video,
my intent was to do a travel video, that would fit the format of Television.
We got approval from the festival to film the musicians etc.
Mont Tremblant is huge, and in addition to the various
musical sequences, we also shot the local mountains , rivers, lakes,
and rented a small airplane and flew over the lakes. The photographer
was hanging by his seat belt as he peered out an airplane without a
door. After shooting from the airplane, all he said was "Boy that
was a rush!"
For those who do not know about Mont Tremblant. It is
a ski resort just north of Montreal. It has been under extensive developement
by Intrawest, a major Canadian Resort Developer. There are many areas
of the resort that are still very quaint and country. The people are
French Canadians and it is fun to interact with the different culture.
They are not as uptight as American.
When I left Tremblant, I carried the footage with me.
It just laid around in my desk in the original video cases. Raw footage.
I did not know what exactly I wanted to do with the film. Create an
internet video or try and market for television.
However, since I have been in Atlanta I have gotten more
involved with technical aspects of film.
This is my first attempt at a video. And a music video
at that. The film was originally shot on Beta SP, which is what they
use for televsion. I had Creative
Media convert it to MP format. Then used a desktop software to create
a windows video. Ulead
VideoStudio 8.. I put it together in a week while sitting at my
pc. Now I wish I had higher end technology, but you work with what you
have.
So it has been a long process to get to the end product
and I hope that you enjoy the video. It has some good Blues Music footage.
It will get you dancing in your seats. To play it you need windows media.
And be sure and allow time to download as the video is about 10 minutes
long.
Now , I am not terribly sensitive so if any of you want
to comment on the artist style , just dont razz me too much.
Be sure and turn up the sound so you can enjoy.
If it does not load, get the newest version of Windows Media Player.
