Graaff-Reinet is the fourth oldest town in South Africa and definitely worth a visit. <br><br>Cradled in a meander of the Sundays River, Graaff-Reinet is an oasis in the desolate surrounding landscape, practically every visitor remarks on its unique old-world character. <br><br>Graaff-Reinet is situated en route from Johannesburg to Cape Town in the Eastern Cape Province. Many people stop over while traveling to or from the Garden Route. Graaff-Reinet also boasts with the Valley of Desolation, which is a geographical phenomenon that has been declared a National Monument. Other highlights include, game viewing and numerous museums in town. For the more adventurous there’s quad bikes and micro light flights. <br><br>Accommodation at Karoopark Guest House is available in the Colonial-style manor house that was built at the end of the 19th century. Today as a guesthouse, bed-and-breakfast accommodation and self-catering cottages are available that are within walking distance of shops, banks and historical places of interest. It's a great place to experience the homely hospitality of the Karoo. <br><br>We serve traditional Karoolamb and Kudu Steak in our A'la Carte Restaurant. The house-drink - Withond - is defnitely worth a taste!<br><br>Directions to Karoopark Guest House, Graaff-Reinet<br><br>If travelling from the North (Johannesburg or Bloemfontein), upon entering Graaff-Reinet there is a Shell petrol station (Botha's Garage) on your left and Caledon Street directly opposite on your right. Turn right into Caledon Street, proceed towards the mountain, continue past the Dutch Reformed Church, straight across the four-way stop and Karoopark is three blocks further on your left, no 81.<br><br>If travelling from the South (Cape Town or Port Elizabeth) upon entering Graaff-Reinet, proceed straight up Church Street towards the Dutch Reformed Church.
