Sanibel and Captiva: Sanibel and Captiva Islands are five minutes across the causeway. Dining in Sanibel, Captiva offers numerous restaurants to satisfy a variety of tastes. Enjoy local island flavor by spending time on a beautiful sand beach on Captiva; if you are brave you can enjoy parasailing. Stop off for lunch at the “Mucky Duck” and or dessert at the “Bubble Room”. Biking or a lingering stroll through J Ding Darling Natural Preserve where you can catch a glimpse of an alligator or many of the local bird species offers an enjoyable family outing. Sanibel offers the world's best shelling (be an early riser) and over 100 shops such as the unique boutiques at Periwinkle Place.
