Atlantis Lodge is a luxury retreat positioned on the Atlantic Ocean on Atlantic Boulevard in tropical Key West and is the only guesthouse along the beaches. It was voted, by the Mayors Committee, as “the cleanest and greenest business in Key West” for January of 2001. Atlantis Lodge was designed, built and maintained by the owners, Steve and Kayla Kessler, and offers amenities not normally found in hotels and guesthouses, making your stay that much more memorable at an affordable rate.
The Garden suite is cozy and charming. As you enter the suite, you are greeted by an inviting daybed in the living area that is covered with comfy, overstuffed pillows and over which a white tulle netting is suspended creating a romantic, tropical ambience. Perfect for an afternoon nap! A small rattan table with glass top and two nestling chairs is ideal for a candlelit dinner for two. There is a corner baker’s rack with a portable Sony CD/cassette/radio unit, selection of CDs, cable TV with VCR and choice of movies as well as a collection of books and board games for quiet private times together. A hand painted Hibiscus wall mural pulls in the romantic flora so abundant throughout the island and surrounding landscaping. Raw muslin drapes and a collection of gold gilt mirrors surround a sunny windowsill. Beyond the pass-through that separates the living area from the sleeping area, is a comfy queen size bed with Jamaican wicker nightstands on either side, a wet bar area with fridge, coffee maker, large toaster oven, utensils, plates and other necessary items. The sleeping area opens in to an 8 x10 bath that is tiled from floor to ceiling and utilizes a unique design that has a open shower with bench, 9 ft vaulted ceilings, an 18 sq. ft. skylight separate water closet and vanity area and, of course, a large Jacuzzi tub for two. The Master suite, which is approximately 700 sq. ft., has a king size bed, 17 ft. vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans and recessed lighting all on dimmer switches, cedar closet, central A.C., wet bar, large wrap around bar with bar stools, tiled floors throughout, 27” cable stereo TV, VCR with selection of classics and other popular movies, DMX music system with a choice of 30 channels of 24 hour commercial free music, wet bar area, fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, all necessary utensils, and oversized 10 x 16 bath featuring a 9 ft. vanity with double sinks over which hang Baroque framed mirrors, separate lighted make-up vanity, separate water closet, spacious clear glass shower, and best of all, a huge Jacuzzi tub. Above the tub is a large 18 sq. ft. skylight that, during certain times of the year, frames the full moon perfectly! On either side of the tub, there are two antique crystal grape cluster wall sconces that create the perfect atmosphere and romantic lighting. The décor is eclectic and accented with antiques from the Nouveau, Deco and Retro Scandinavian periods.
