Comfort Texas and the Hill County is a destination all its own offers you antique shopping, German heritage, great food, Guadalupe river, and small town hospitality. As you walk down town take notice of bricks in the sidewalk engraved with names of the founding families. Opposed to slavery and secession, the German settlers of the area suffered greatly during the Civil War. Attempting to leave the state, the group was surprised and killed by Confederate raiders and their bodies recovered after the war ended. <br><br>The Texas Hill Country is nearly paradise for those who love the outdoors.
