Questions to ask the property owner.

If we receive a legitimate complaint about a property; we will remove it from our directory. At the bottom of the page for each property, you will see the date when the property was added to our directory. If the property has been on our site for a long time; then it is probably a reputable company. But be sure and ask these questions.

1. Are you a member of the Chamber of Commerce or Tourism Board? Then call tourism board to verify information.
2. Do you have a business license? If yes, then call authorities to verify business license.
3. Get the address of the property and look it up on the Tax Assessor records if in the USA. Verify that the owners name in the database is the same as listed.
4. Get name, telephone, email and address of owner then verify details. (Do a reverse Telephone number look up in USA)
5. Search the internet for either the owners name or email or phone number to see if they are advertising on other sites. Reputable owners usually advertise in several places.
6. Check Trip Advisor for any reviews about the property.
7. Never send full payment without inspecting the property.
8. See if they have a utility bill for their property.
Most Important - Do your research first before booking the property! We do not verify the property. And call us if you have any questions and we will help you verify the property.

We have booked many trips through private owners through our website and know many of them personally. So if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.
