Salisbury is an exciting, diverse city to explore and is the perfect base for visiting much of Southern England.

The city of New Sarum, Salisbury, was founded some 800 years ago. Old Sarum where the first site of the city lay can still be explored and during the year festivals including knight jostling take place within its walls. The foundations of the first cathedral can also be explored at Old Sarum before walking down into the famous cathedral close and visiting today’s magnificent cathedral. The Medieval Hall in the Close provides a slide show to help visitors discover the history of the city. Also within the Close is the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum which houses an outstanding display about the building of Stonehenge, Mompesson House which now belongs to the National Trust and a regimental museum - The Wardrobe Military Museum.
