St James Parish is located on the northeastern coastal area of Jamaica. The capital of the parish is Montego Bay. The Nassau Mountains run through the western section of the parish. The St James Parish is one of the smaller parishes in Jamaica and Montego Bay section covers a big majority of the parish. The beach areas in Montego Bay are: Cornwall Beach, Doctor’s Cave Beach, Walter Fletcher Beach, Dead End Beach, and Sunset Beach. Jamaica was home to numerous plantations over the centuries. One of the most famous plantations in the St James Parish was the "Cinnamon Hill Great House". It was a sugar plantation originally built in the 1700s and named after the cinnamon trees on the premises. Johnny Cash and his wife owned the property for 30 years. But now property now sits abandoned near the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course.
