Main tourist attractions can be reached by excellent public transportation within minutes. If you don’t mind walking, many are less than half an hour walk. Downtown is very close, with shopping malls, restaurants, cinemas, coffee shops, concert halls and jazz clubs. Margaret Island, the Castle district and several Thermal Baths are next door!

The “Central Park” of Budapest, MARGARET ISLAND is completely free from traffic. The island is mostly covered by landscape parks and is a popular recreational area. Its medieval ruins are reminders of its importance in the Middle Ages as a religious center.
BUDA CASTLE is the historical castle complex of the Hungarian kings, first completed in 1265. It was built on the southern tip of Castle Hill, surrounded by what is known as the Castle District, famous for its Medieval, Baroque and 19th century living quarters and public buildings. Buda Castle is part of the Budapest World Heritage Site.
If you spend time in Budapest, at least a part of it should be at the soothing THERMAL SPRING BATHS. The Romans reaped the health benefits of hot springs here, but it was during the 16th and 17th century Turkish occupation that the bath culture was developed. Some of these spas are still in operation today. The Király and the Rudas are the finest examples.
ÓBUDA (Old Buda Town) is the oldest part of Budapest situated in Buda. District 3 lies on the ruins of the huge, ancient military camp of Roman legionaries called Acquincum, the northernmost frontier of the Roman Empire in continental Europe.
