Originally built by an English planter, Sir Francis Whitelaw, this bungalow has been fully refurbished, retaining its old world charm. Only one booking at a time is taken to ensure guests have the entire bungalow to themselves. Its comfortable and spacious bedrooms, extensive gardens with a swimming pool, magnificent views, interesting location near the south coast and the mild climate all combine to make Pantiya Estate an inviting property for families or friends.
The whole property has 5 large double guest rooms.
Two guestrooms with attached bathrooms are located in the main bungalow and can accommodate up to 6 guests. The guestrooms are comfortably furnished with twin or double beds. The bathrooms have showers, bath tub, wash basin, and w/c.
Air-conditioning is fitted in every room. Fans are also available on request.
The other three double guest rooms are facing the pool with ensuite facilities, a double bed, shower and w/c. They share a verandah overlooking the garden and pool.
There is a spacious and comfortable living room for guests to use which has various couches for lazing around on, a TV with satellite channels and a DVD player. There is also a stereo with CD player.
Next to the living room, is our large dining room with a 12-seater table. Meals are served here in either seated or buffet style.
Both Western dishes and Sri Lankan rice and curry are served at Pantiya Estate.
You can discuss your choice of menu with the in-house cook who will prepare delicious meals using fresh vegetables purchased from the local market.
Thambilli 'king coconut' plucked from our very own estate and fresh fruit juices are a speciality of ours!

Explore the surrounding tea, rubber and coconut plantation. You can also make a short trip to the tea and rubber factories where you can have an insight into the manufacturing process.
The calm, serene environment of the plantation allows you to relax and get your mind off the rest of the world! take a walk through the estate and breathe the fresh mountain air, taste the sweetness of the King Coconut water or the fresh blend of fine tea produced from our very own tea garden!
The splendid coastal towns of Sri Lanka are less than an hour away for days out at the beach. For all your excursions, the Pantiya Estate staff can pack a picnic lunch with your choice of food and beverages.
