GEOGRAPHY OF WINDERMERE VACATIONS
Windermere is a town located on the near the shores of Lake Windermere in the beautiful Lake District and is one of the towns that falls within the Lake District National Park. The town is about a 15 minute walk from Lake Windermere or the town of Bowness on Windermere. It's function grew during the 1800's when a railway station was built in the village. Today it has merged with Bowness on Windermere, but still retains it's original charm with the historic railway. Several of the cottages in the town were designed by the famous architect, AWN Pugin, who designed the former railway executives cottages located in the town center during 1849.
