Glendalough Vacation

Where to stay in Glendalough is a unique experience and is located in an ancient village whose name has the meaning of "The valley of the two lakes" in Old Irish. The village was established in the sixth century, when St Kevin built a monastery on the site. There are numerous buildings that have historical significance still visible in the village. During the 12th and 13th centuries, construction around the church was highly active including the imposing granite carved St. Kevin's Cross. The Round Tower which was built over 1,000 years ago is still standing. The Cathedral was built between the 10th and 13th centuries. The Upper and Lower Lakes of Glendalough are one of the beautiful natural attractions surrounding the village. They are a group of finger lakes that extend between the mountains, each with their own unique habitat. There are plenty places to explore while staying in a Glendalough Lodge.
