St Ann Parish is the largest parish in Jamaica. The parish is located on Jamaica's the northern coast. The capital of the parish is St. Ann’s Bay and was one of the stopping points during Columbus's second voyage in 1494. Away from the beaches and coastline run the Dry Harbour Mountains. The combination of limestone bedrock found in this region plus the numerous rivers have created sinkholes and an amazing cave system. The area has numerous beach resort areas: Discovery Bay, Runaway Bay, St Ann's Bay and Ocho Rios. Located at Nine Mile you will find the "Bob Marley Mausoleum" where Bob Marley and "Moma Marley" are buried. Nine Mile is where Reggae musician and political activist Bob Marley was born in 1945.
