North Western Province Vacations
The North Western Province faces the Laccadive Sea. It is comprised of two districts: Kurunegala and Puttalam. In the most northern region of this district is the Wilpattu National Park, which is the largest national park in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu National extends into the North Central Province also. At one time the region was the home to 4 of the ancient kingdoms of Sri Lanka but today the region is dotted with fishing villages and coconut plantations. And if you search hard enough you can find the monuments that were built back in the 12-14th centuries. Citadels, beautiful palaces, and ancient Buddhist temples can be found in this region. Its name in Sinalese is Wayamba; which is used in the region.
