Southern Province Vacations

The Southern Province of Sri Lanka stretches from Bentota on the west coast to the Yala Reserve on the East Coast. The south coast is made up of fishing villages fringed with palm trees. The colonial town of Galle sits in the midst. The Hiyare forest reserve is located outside Galle and consist of 600 acres of tropical rainforest. Bundala National Park is a UNESCO biosphere reserve and wetland park where birds; especially pink flamingos, and wild elephants congregate. Along the coastal area of Hikkaduwa Beach is the Hikkaduwa Coral Reef. And within the Bay area of Bonavista/Galle are several coral reefs.
